1-1 Coaching
1-1 Coaching for Major Life Events & Transitions
For people navigating illness, bereavement, caring, relationship change, midlife reinvention, retirement, or unexpected events.
There are moments in life when everything feels different — even if you can’t quite explain why.
A diagnosis. A loss. Caring for someone. A relationship ending. A shift in identity. A sense that the life you’ve built no longer fits.
Or simply the quiet realisation that something needs to change.
1-1 coaching gives you a space where you don’t have to be strong, sorted, or certain.
A space where you can turn up exactly as you are.

How We Work Together
Sessions are online or in person.
You bring whatever is happening.
I bring more than two decades of coaching experience.
Together, we explore:
- what’s shifting
- what matters now
- what you want to have happen
- what needs to be true for that to become possible
You set the pace.
You choose the focus.
What Would You Like to Have Happen?
If you’re sensing a shift — or simply feeling the quiet pull of change — let’s talk.
Book a 30‑minute conversation
A calm, no‑pressure space to explore what you need and whether this work is right for you.
Please note: This is COACHING, NOT THERAPY. Coaching focuses on now and the future. Therapy is used to heal the past.
“Refreshing to work with a coach of Kay’s talents – and to be required to be fully present and engaged in the process. My sessions with Kay were revelatory – the process created intense focus on drivers and desires, at pace and with energy.
I left with the clearly illuminated choices I would be making as a result of our session. I found the process liberating and revealing.”

What you can expect
A space where you can breathe, where status is irrelevant, where the noise and clutter of everyday life melt away.
Typically, early sessions are in quick succession (weekly or fortnightly), we decide at the end of each session. After that, regular check-in sessions, 4-5 times a year.
When you have regular sessions and a meaningful relationship with your coach:
Changes have time to percolate and process
Patterns can be identified and addressed
There is no need to force or push
There is ease, changes happen naturally
Time allows more layers, richness, more clarity
Before we begin:
We meet for a friendly chat – online, or in person if practical.
You can ask any questions, we decide if we would like to work together.
The Details:
We can meet online or in person – or a combination – some sessions online, some in person – depending on circumstances
Before our first session, you will be asked to complete an intake questionnaire
We begin each session by taking a few minutes to fully arrive in the space and become present to the process
We will establish what you would like to have happen in the session, your desired outcome.
During the session you will be asked clean questions, enabling you to create a metaphorical model of what you want – you can be as creative as you like, being in a metaphor landscape is like being in a dream, anything can happen.
As you build the metaphor landscape, you will gain access to new information about yourself, allowing you to understand more about the changes needed to achieve what you want and for the change to be sustainable.
Changes you make in your metaphor model generally lead to changes in real life, this is one of the things that makes the process feel so simple and aligned.
“Kay’s style is very subtle, she guided me through practical solutions for each task, encouraging me to develop vivid personal metaphors for how I needed to adapt my approach to some key challenges. I ended up with a very clear idea of how I can reshape my consulting practice to be more intellectually satisfying and less stressful, and allow more time for personal development and reflection, while also providing clients with quality advice.”

In-person sessions
Away from your usual work place – we can find somewhere you like

We can walk and talk
We agree a start time, no specific end time – there is no clock watching. You have all the time you need, sessions are around 2 hours long.
If you are new to coaching:
Coaching is different to a chat with a friend, although it can look very similar. It is time for you – so there is no back and forth, taking turns as you would with a friend. This can feel strange at first, most people settle in very quickly and enjoy the chance to take a breath, to notice what is important – which can sometimes be surprising.
“You’ll find Kay has been slowly, quietly, patiently helping you to unravel the knots, shine some light in the corners, and really get to know yourself in ways conducive to improved performance through subtle, sustainable and desirable change.
Kay won’t change who you are, she’ll help you to be better at being who you are.
Work with Kay and your shareholders, your colleagues, your employees and your loved ones will all think you are having far more good days than you used to.
